భూదేవి - సమాధానం

శ్రీదేవి, భూదేవి ఇద్దరూ విష్ణు పత్నులుగానే ఉద్దేశింపబడతారు.అయితే శ్రీదేవిని లక్ష్మీ స్వరూపంగా (ధన, ధాన్య, సంతాన, ఐశ్వర్య మొదలైన) భావిస్తారు, భూదేవిని దయకు, ఓర్పుకి ప్రతీకగా చూస్తారు.
అయితే రామాయణం లో సీత, జనకుడి నాగలికి తగిలిన ఒక పెట్టెలో దొరుకుతుంది కాబట్టి ఆమెను భూమిలో పుట్టినట్టుగా గుర్తిస్తారు, ధరాపుత్రి గా పూజిస్తారు. కానీ నిజానికి సీత భూదేవికి పుట్టలేదు.
విష్ణువు తన సంకల్పంతో కౌశల్యకి యోనిజ మార్గంలొ జన్మిస్తాడు (ఇంకా అండజ - అనగా గుడ్డులోంచి పుట్టటం, శ్వేదజ అనగా శ్వేద రంధ్రాల్లోంచి పుట్టటం వంటి మార్గాలున్నాయి). సీతకు ఇటువంటి సంకల్పం ఎమీ లేకపోగా మానవపుట్టుక పుట్టలేదు.
అంతే కాకుండా రామావతారంలొ ఒకే భార్య, ఒకే మాట, ఒకే బాణం అన్నది మనకు తెలిసినదే. కనుక సందర్భసహితంగానే భూదేవి గురించి చెప్పుకోము.

విష్ణువు వరాహావతారంలొ హిరణ్యాక్షుణ్ణి సంహరించి, భూదేవిని కాపాడి, భూపతి ఔతాడు. ఇక్కడ శ్రీదేవి ప్రస్తావన రాదు. మన కథలలో గొప్పతనం ఇదే. అప్రస్తుతంగా ఎదీ ఉండబోదు.

సాఫ్ట్వేర్ పరంగా చూసినట్టైతే Objects మరియు Classes ఉంటాయికదా. అట్లాగె విష్ణువు - ఆయన అవతారాలు, శ్రీదేవి - ఆమె అంశలూ, ఆ విధంగా మనం ఊహించవచ్చు!!

Kedar, after a little research Iam back. Here is how I can explain the very interesting proposition.
Sri Devi and Bhu Devi are definitely the consorts of Vishnu. And moreover Sri Devi symbolises all that is prosperity and fertility, Bhu Devi sysmbolises mercy and forbearance - both of which are equally important.
But when you take the case of Ramayana for example, Sita is an Amsha of Sri Devi. And Bhu Devi is considered to be her mother. But there is a catch here. Everybody in Ramayana is a Maanava Avatara. Which means that even if they are gods, they come into this world through one of the wordly ways of birth and they being Yonija (natural birth through Yoni), Andaja (through an egg) and Svedaja (through sweat/sweat pores). I would not go into the details of these though.
Rama was born to Kausalya because it was his sankalpa (conviction). But Sita has no such sankalpa. She was found in a box when Janaka was tilling the ground. And hence she is symbolically the daughter of the earth Bhu Devi, but not in the literal sense.
Also considering the principles to which Ramaavatara abides to, it is always one wife, one arrow thing! So there is no Bhu Devi in context.
Some additional info
Bhu Devi is considered to be the consort of Varaaha Murthy in exclusivity. It was in Varaaha avatara that the lord saves her from HiraNyaaksha. In this case, context wise Sri Devi is not in picture.
All said, in fact there are totally three consorts of Vishnu (Sri Devi, Bhu Devi, NeeLa Devi) and each having a Suktam dedicated to them in the Pancha Suktas.
A crude analogy
In software programming we have Objects and Classes. A variable maybe defined as a global but may or may not be used in the Object of the Class. This does not mean that the scope of that variable does not extend into the Object. Its just that it was not used/was not needed accordingly in context.
Hope this clears some fog and also raises few more questions.
