Mono has certainly come a long way! I played with it in its initial days. I attempted writing bindings between Windows Forms and GTK# and I was partially successful. I also wrote a File Manager for GNOME on Mono using System.IO. After that, somehow I didn't get a chance to play with Mono much. 

I am pleasantly surprised that this cute MP3 player's application stack is completely based on Mono.
